Any FAS folks out there know the answer to this?
Mark,
Our Chicago office has a client that is using FAS100 for their asset management. They currently have everything hosted at a hosting provider, but Chicago is trying to get them to use NAV in Azure and now the client wants to move all of his infrastructure to Azure. Do you have any idea how FAS100 works? I know it's running on a SQL database, but I am not sure if there is a service that runs the business logic or if everything is executed on the client. The reason why I am asking is that we can put the SQL Database on Azure, but if there is a ton of communication between the client and server, it might be slow to run this then using a ClickOnce implementation (meaning local client, but server in the cloud). For instance, with the older versions of NAV, where everything was executed on the client, it would have been impossible to do that in a way that would perform. So, I would appreciate any info you have.
