Another partner is asking if I've ever seen companies disappearing from SY_Company before, ""since you've been around a lot longer than I have."" His customer has around 45 companies and they randomly disappear. If they recreate the company, the data is there but they can't figure out why they would just disappear from SY_Company. Has anyone else seen this?

Do they use alternate directories in Company Maintenance or at leave have fields 11 and 12 populated in Sy_Company populated for any records even if they don't use alternate directories? There was an old problem with that.

I'll ask him. And I'll let him know of the wonderful resource I used to get this info - 90 Minds and @AlnoorCassim!!!

No no we're just exploring a hunch a hazy recollection from the past. May not lead us anywhere. Present it as ""oh btw can you ...."" :)

I'm aware of that @AlnoorCassim but he doesn't even have a hunch right now....

Gotcha. Back at a computer now. The Field #s are 13 and 14, not 11 and 12.

He said he'll check those fields. I also mentioned this group and referred him to 90Minds.com. I strongly suggested he join!

I'm chatting with him right now and he wants to know if there is a profit motive for people to provide support here.... I told him, no, just people - like him - who know a great deal and share their knowledge. I think he'll join.... :)

A profit motive like you are going to become a bazillionaire and move to some Caribbean island if he joins or that the group will if he joins? Too Funny!!!! He may be able to because of his increased ability to solve his clients problems (instead of using a surragate)......

I told him of the many times I've been rescued through the Urgent Support group and mentioned that many people are alerted by email when something is posted to that group in particular. That's when he asked if there was a reason why they would do that, like, are they compensated? Only when they need a return favor...

It's like the reference desk at the library, an MBA class, Cheers and group threapy all rolled into one.

90 Minds - where ""hunches"" and ""hazy recollections"" are right more often than Wikipedia
