Same client who found the issue with copying orders in 2020.1 (I have made a case on that, btw) has found an issue with deleting orders from Shipping Data Entry.

They enter an order, print the shipping document, then delete the order because they are actually not shipping it for another day.  (I must investigate this further...)  If the order has backordered lines on it, they are getting the error message that says the Qty Shipped not equal the Qty Packaged, and the QTY Shipped shows 0 for each line - so it's like the order lines are deleted but the Packaging file has not yet and its comparing to non-existent lines.

Only doing it when there is a backorder.

Emailed him tonight to create a batch that is STRICTLY for deleting and not to delete individual orders, but delete the whole batch at the end of the day and see if that works, for now - but obviously this is one of those errors that will pop up ONCE IN A WHILE for most customers, who are not deleting like crazy, but is an issue for this client.  The worst part is that once you get that error message, you have NO WAY of exiting the Shipping Data Entry screen, but have to kill it.

I can’t tell if you’re referencing this being a known issue from a prior release. I definitely had a customer with this issue ( spent time on the phone with Sage and watching a customer’s head explode ) a few releases ago. In this case it was very problematic as they were shipping tons of little low dollar value items.

Wondering if this is a return of a prior bug?

@Wayne Schulz - there are a lot of bugs listed for prior versions with the error about Qty Shipped, but none of them specified that it only happened when you DELETED the order.  So it's either new OR previous mentions didn't include that one little tidbit.

Sage contacted me and we were able to easily replicate on the customer's machine - but one thing - we had to PRINT the order to make this happen.  I setup one order, just accepted it and then deleted, and didn't get the error.  The second time, I did exactly as the client would do, which includes printing.  THEN pulling it back up and deleting caused the error.  GO FIGURE.  Anyway, Sage will now be testing in-house to replicate.

OK, Sage was able to replicate, as was I, but it's not the printing that's doing it - it's using the SHIP COMPLETE button and then manually backordering a line.  If you manually ship the lines, no problem.
