  • 1.  Annoying PDF Pop Ups

    Posted 03-31-2020 11:13

    Hi, 90 Minds Members,

Hope you are all healthy and staying safe and virus free.

Is there a way for the paperless office pdf not to pop up into preview when updating SO sales journal.  Client knows they should be reviewing the journal before they update but would still rather update without the pdf pop-up.  They do want the sales journal to be created in pdf format, just silently in the background so they can get on with the process of updating.

    Ideas?

    Thanks!

Set Auto create PDF to yes in Paper Office Setup Journal and Register Maintenance.

That just eliminates the pop up asking if you want to print as a PDF.  The PDF itself still pops up.

Not sure what their default program is, but I use this as a reference to have PDF's NOT open at all in Chrome.. So if you set the clients default App to open PDF's to be Chrome, you can follow this to have them just get created, but not pop up the actual document:

Life is relative.  Just took a client call today informing me that they were laying half their workforce off.  Having an annoying PDF doesn't seem so bad!

Is the client at least on a version where the DTR can update automatically?  If not, maybe you can focus their attention to that.  Short of that, point them to the Idea Website so they can post their idea.  Make sure they provide a compelling business reason (increase sales, decrease cost or government mandate).  If they send the link to you for posting here, maybe it will get some traction.  I can see some validity in their request. At times I am annoyed, but I have learned to use it as a last verification point for the correct posting date.  And as we say many times, this is NOT QuickBooks or Sage 50.

Set up auto-posting overnight?  Then they only have to suffer through the "annoying" pop-ups when rushing through a batch for some reason.
