Angela Tolano is asking to speak regarding possible opportunities with the SLA group around MOTM in February. Here is the email she initially sent: We were thinking that if we schedule the spring SLA meeting at the same time and location as the 90 minds group that perhaps we would could increase attendance at both sessions. For example, you run your conference Thursday to Saturday and then we have ours from Sunday to Tuesday. That is the basic premise. Ponder on that and discuss with your 90 minds colleagues and let me know what time works good to chat more next week. My .02: Before we do anything on this I think it makes sense to poll our members to determine how many would attend SLA meeting under such circumstances. We also probably cannot add any more than another 40 at embassy suites though I'm not sure whether that takes into consideration that SLA might use smaller breakout rooms and not be in a MOTM general session. Anyhow if we poll the group and there are 5 or fewer people who'd attend SLA - I'm not sure whether the extra effort would make sense. If we get over 10 who definitely would attend then it might make sense to coordinate. She is looking to have a conversation on this sometime next week. I'm happy to talk with her or if one of you would like to take on this project just let me know. From a group perspective I recommend we poll to see how many might attend SLA and if it's over a certain amount -- I'm picking 10 but open to suggestions -- then talk more seriously. Under 10 beg off. ??

I think we should look into it. Let's definitely get a poll going. We would like need to protect some additional rooms on the Sun thru Tues.

A poll is the only way to figure it out. How many 90Minders appeared at the SLA activity at Summit? I can't imagine coming to our meeting just to attend the SLA at the same time. From her note, It doesn't appear that the two conferences will be running concurrently so break rooms shouldn't be an issue. Lodging may be, but there are plenty of hotels nearby.

And then how many SLA members would join 90 Minds / attend MOTM.

I'm for exploring it as an opportunity.

How many 90 Minds members are also members of SLA? Do they need to be in order to attend the SLA conference?

List of companies is linked above - looking quickly I'm going to guess less than 1/2 -- maybe 1/3 are both 90 and SLA. I think SLA offers open meetings for the first time for anyone who wants to join but that would be up to them. I saw Jerry, Moira, ISM, John Hoyt, Darcy (websitepipeline) at the Summit event. I suspect there are more that I didn't see. I don't know how often they got to the meetings.

Out of the 23 firms listed as SLA, 10 are 90 Minds member firms. I thought Azamba was an SLA member?

Another note: it looks to me like the majority of those who aren't 90 Minders are Sage 300 practices.

I am thinking that we may have them help with a session or 2 at MOTM. Regarding hotel. I would need to arrange more rooms for Sun/Mon/Tues. I will inquiry to see the availability. For the MOTM event. requested 85 rooms per night Thursday to Saturday (last year we had 65 so we have should have some rooms available. ).

The session I am thinking that they might that do would be related to soft skills.
