Yep. This is step one of the master plan to eliminate the classic version and perpetual licensing.

Step One?"" This is the final step. As I said when this was introduced, it's the end of the road for perpetual licensing, too much money and stock valuation in subscription

Microsoft led the way on this with Dynamics Business ready pricing a couple of years ago. It is easier to quote then perpetual. Our off plan clients have been ok with 100c as the renewal. Guess I'm on board.

Realistically perpetual is history with this announcement. If you dont pay maintenance for 3 months then you can never upgrade 100. Next announcement will be that 100 is no longer being sold or upgraded. The announcement after that will be that support is being terminated for 100.

I also only sell 100c now. Plus I've been converting clients, knowing the inevitable will come.

In essence, it's just as @WayneSchulz predicted years ago.

Until the next management team decides the quickest way to boost revenue for a year is to...sell perpetual licenses!

How much net new revenue do you think Sage 100 really produces these days?

@PhilMcIntosh I am not sure if you are being sarcastic but it is a very good possibility. Subscription as the only alternative has the potential of being a disaster. It wouldn't be a surprise if many customers suddenly look at solutions that offer a perpetual license.

Once you've moved all your customers to subscription you can get a bubble in revenue for a year or two by moving them back to perpetual for the price of 2-3 year subscription...

LOL. The perpetual will probably be Acumatica. Customers should be spending money on improving business processes, not fixing issues or wasting money changing software to get essentially the same functionality.
