    Anyone else having issues with windows updates loading Amyuni 6.0.3.5 and breaking the Sage PDF converter?  I'm having to uninstall this driver and reinstall Amyuni 6.0.1.1.  Next day it's back to 6.0.3.5.

    Yes.
    I've been uninstalling via PL_AdvancedOptions_UI
    Reinstall
    Test

    This typically makes the issue go away

    In some cases, I have found the registry entry for the locks seems to have gone away
    This may be unrelated to the Windows update of Amyuni
    I also find uninstall/reinstall fixes this

    My go to has been uninstalling/reinstall which seems to be working

    @Wayne Schulz your go to uninstall/reinstall has worked for me also for along time until this week.  This week we had several accounts that have windows updates loading Amyuni 6.0.3.5.  The Sage workaround/fix is much more painful in that you have to delete the printer, restart, uninstall the driver and driver package, restart, and then reinstall.  Then turn off windows updates.  Sage support document/steps here

    Only way to see the Amyuni version is to go to Printer Properties for the Sage 100 PDF Converter and go to the About tab.  It will work if it shows version 6.0.1.1.  it will not work if it shows version 6.0.3.5

    I remember in years past that Windows Update gave you the option of marking specific updates as "do not install".  I guess they got rid of that option.

    Steve,

    Looks like Sage updated that link with the program downloads to fix this issue. However, we have some clients that we cannot put on the latest product updates because of compatibility with some modifications. Do you or anyone happen to have the instructions to complete the removal of the drivers manually?

    How to Remove Amyuni Document Converter 600 printer driver.
    1. Open Devices and Printers and remove device for Sage 100 PDF Converter
    2. Reboot the computer
    3. Open Devices and Printers, select any printer or find "Print Server Properties".  Select the "Drivers" tab.  Select Amyuni Document Converter 600, select Remove.  Select "Remove driver and driver package".
    4. Reboot computer.
    5. Reinstall the Sage PDF Converter

    Open Print Management; double-click All Drivers; right-click Amyuni driver and Delete.

    Has anyone widely deployed this fix yet? 

    I am wondering if this requires that we visit every workstation and run PL_AdvancedOptions_UI

    I have several customers where they have a mix of local workstations ( connected to the network ) and users who come in via RDP type connections. For those remote users, it's a pretty easy fix because I only run the PL command once. It's a little more time-consuming for those users who are not remotely connecting - especially when not all of them might be in the office and available to update on the day that I want to make the update.

    That was my impression from the instructions.  Download and install at server.  Go to each workstation uninstall/reinstall pl_advancedoptions_ui. 

    So I have started by running the exe at the server and then fixing workstations as they break.

    I’m getting to the point where I am losing sympathy for those on old unsupported versions ( I know, I know — they have mods/enhancements and can’t UG — cue the violins )

    IMO — there is something fundamentally wrong if a user can have so many add-ons that Sage cannot be updated.

    If they did custom custom code changes then , well, IMO they made a poor life choice.

    Since the zipped update has three separate installations, I would be leery.  I have not compared the individual files.  I supposed you could copy them over to a prior version, then run the PL_advancedoptions_ui utility........

    I am starting to take a call about every day or so on this.

    I wish we did not have to run the utility to update the workstations as users often don’t have role security to do so, may not be local admin, etc.

    What Sage really needs is a zero local client setup.

    I guess years ago it was never a big enough issue that engineering just figured if they kept doing what worked in 1990 that they’d be fine.

    A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, even if it is only a foot or so.  I am VERY grateful  for this as it is another SIGN that Sage is fully committed to the product AND the channel.  Glad to see the ROI on the $140,000,000 Annual subscription revenue!!!!!!

    I am installing the patch on the server when I am on doing maintenance/support.  Only touching the workstation when user encounters the error -30 message. NOT making a big ado about it.

    Also, don't forget to install the patch when doing a v2021 installation.

    Good point @Jeff Schwenk about grabbing this during the 2021 upgrade as the Sage site does NOT link from the 2021 download page to this amyuni driver as a hotfix to be installed during the update.

    For some reason, I have customers that this error ( I see mostly lockfile type errors ) happens a lot. PL_AdvancedOptions works for those provided the user has the rights to file/run within Sage.​

    This fix is also only available for 2019.5 and higher which is another reason to continue to carry the message to customers that they need to be current on a Sage-supported version. Naturally, the biggest barrier to staying current is all the add-ons that we sell them to make their life better which in turn tends to delay them from upgrading.​

    To lockfile or not lockfile, THAT is the question!!!!!   Unfortunately, I continue to encounter issues whether whether paperless is installed with the lockfile option selected or NOT selected..  Is this for running on a Citrix or terminal services workstation?  Is this for users who mulit task and run several updates at one?
