Am I overthinking (or overlooking) something or should there be a way to make a warehouse inactive? I know we've had conversations about removing warehouses - which can be quite a project if there is history. I'm not sure why Sage doesn't just let us make a warehouse inactive? Customers want to do this for all sorts of reasons - usually to prevent mistakes from their data entry people. For whatever the reason - this doesn't sound like an odd request.

NOT an odd request, very SANE in fact. What is odd is that Sage refuses to engage in providing real solutions with impact! How about a utility to merge warehouse activity so you can eliminate the inactive warehouse????

That would be a great addition. I have a client that just went from 4.05 to 2013. Had to bring back deleted whse because they kept getting record missing in inventory items. Now they have about 10 warehouses listed that are not used and take up space when viewing quantities in IM. Bummer!

Same issue here. Customer wants to know ""Why is warehouse 000 suddenly appearing - we don't use it and don't want mistakes made into it"" .... The transaction dated back to 1998. There should be an easy way to inactivate most of these master files.

It's certainly not an oddball request. I've heard it a few times. I think there are several posts related to that or a similar functionality on the Ideas site.

Dang, already voted for both. DSD also has a security enhancement to lock down warehouses. We have several clients who have customized lookups and report filters to cut down on mistakes.
