Am I overlooking a way to purge out check history. Customer has a few vendors they deleted out of AP (V 4.3.0.23). The check history stays. When you look at the report the data is there but the names are blank. Check vendor maintenance - all data for the vendor is gone. Have I overlooked something or is this a WAD?

Well did they delete from vendor maintenance or delete from the utility? I would vote for WAD if they were able to delete from vendor maintenance. Another one of those instances where the question is - Is it better to delete or merge the vendor? I always vote for merging.

I was able to delete from the utility (Delete/Change) and when I looked at the log Check History was NOT one of the files reported to have been purged. To make matters trickier -- if you try to DFDM Check History Header - the key is the check number -- and not the vendor.

If you delete a customer, it doesn't delete invoice history, so it makes sense that if you delete a vendor, it doesn't delete check history.

Thanks. Personally I don't know what the big deal was but for some reason it was important for these checks to go bye bye. They were all pretty old and I think written on a since closed account.

I had a customer who recently upgraded ask me to remove the checks with blank vendor info but it turned out, it was from an old bank code so I just saved a new version of the check history report with the bank code set.

Wayne, in DFDM note the Key No. field at bottom left. Switch from KPRIMARY to KVENDOR and you can scroll the recs in vendor order.
