Am I missing something or is there no way for: - User loses / forgets password - Admin goes into system and changes the users password Can the admin force *JUST* this user to change the password on next login? Looks as if the admin should be able to force *ALL* users but where is the place to just force this one user? If you have 60 users into a system and one user keeps forgetting their password it seems a little awkward to force the whole company to reset their passwords.

Just set the user password to something easy, like ""welcome"" and then if the user changes it, they change it. And if they don't the Admin remind them it is ""welcome"". The System Configuration Setting requires everyone to reset their password every ### days. Not sure that is what you want. So the Admin would have to go in again, to turn that off.

Recent CRM implementation: Tried to do security right by setting a simple password for each user and forcing them to change it on first login. 3 out 5 forgot the password they set, one of them did it twice in a week. I may recommend they set the passwords to their addresses, as they APPEAR to be able to find their way home at night...

LOL. But then there is the problem - did I set the password to just the number or the number + street. I wish I could say I don't have this problem!

So if you know the bosses address you can look at payroll. :-) This seems like a simple feature that should have been in the software long ago. If you have integration that uses a Sage user name and password and you have change passwords every 90 days then you also have to change all of the integration programs every 90 days. Kind of a joke. You should be able to have individual passwords expire every xx days or at least exclude certain users from password expiration.

The weakness is that if the user doesn't change their ""welcome"" password then the admin knows a users password and could login as that person. Of course, the admin could also create a new user login or change password for any user without leaving a trace (user just presumes they forgot it and asks that it be reset).

Turn on integrated login and then let the Domain Admin deal with it. :-)

Not sure if you want to go thru with this, but you could remove the checkbox to require passwords, go to the user maintenance and remove that user's password, go back and check the box to require passwords. The user will be prompted (forced) to enter a password next time he/she signs on. Otherwise, I'd do something like @MadelineStefanou suggests, appending ""welcome"" with something that they know, like the last 4 characters of their SS# or MMDD of their birthday.
