I've encountered a Sage Exchange Desktop that could not be installed for one workstation.
They keep receiving an error
Uninstall/reinstall did not work in this one case.
The other workstation updates all seem fine.
When an error happens, I find that the support is mostly Sage pointing at Paya and Paya pointing at Sage.

A recent SED update I encountered on a client's server requires a .NET installation, which I will not install without IT involvement.

I have started seeing more of these as well. Somewhat of a nuisance. I take them as they come. Luckily, they trickle in.
A couple of thoughts.
Continue the course and wait for the call.
Send out a heads up note in your next letter requesting that Company/IT contact you for update instructions.
My question is who exactly needs the destop installed? I have encountered issue on the server where I cannot copy company data without the update.
Just another PITA to deal with.
