After upgrade to 4.4 PU4 the memos stored for customers are displaying blank even though there is clearly memo data that is set to always display. Fixed this using the following KB: http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/infasp/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=522048 Changed the The SY_MemoManager.m4t ""MemoKeyLength"" is incorrect and should be either 9 or 22 depending on if expanded customer numbers are being used. Edit this field length in Data File Display and Maintenance. Note - had not expanded the field length to 22 so unsure why this was required or if this will be widespread. Have not had a lot of clients with many memos. Could also have been a client specific data issue (client was upgrading from 4.30)

Just to be clear the value in the field WAS 9 and I changed it to 22 and the problem with memos being blank went away. We had NOT checked off to use expanded AR customer numbers in the AR Options screen.
