Sage 100

Hi

In the past, when we have helped customers migrate from a providex version to a SQL version, we did it at the time of an upgrade to a newer version.

Is it possible to do it moving from the same version on one server to another server (with SQL) ?   and is there a specific procedure that people have had success with ?

I think it's just a matter of migrating the data, and then Sage 100 will put it into SQL as part of the process. 

You'll have a prompt as to whether you are migrating from Standard/Advanced or Premium.

Use caution with any customer doing a platform change.

Recent Sage policy is that customer platform changing who monthly pay will also lose any migration credits they may have due to previous migration to subscription.
YMMV on what the current Sage policy is so it's a good idea to have a quote from Sage in advance of the platform change.

For a same server upgrade, without version change, the only option is to backup the MAS90 folder, uninstall the old Sage 100, install Premium, then migrate from the MAS90 folder copy.  Sage won't let you install multiple flavors of the same version on a server.  (That hasn't been possible since v4.5).

Take a full server snapshot in case something goes wrong with the migration and you need to reset and use the old version again.
