Acumatica today announced the acquisition of Imperium Property Management from Integrated Business Systems. This becomes their fifth vertical market alongside distribution, manufacturing ( via 2022 acquisition of JAAS ), construction and retail commerce.
According to CEO Jon Roskill, 85% of the new license sales in 2021 were from an industry edition.
Also announced was Acumatica Document Cloud ( based on Adobe integration ) as well as an integration to Autodesk ( Construction estimating ).
Attendance appeared strong with the company initially suggesting 2,500 would attend before lowering the number to 2,000 ( way way more than my private guess of 900 ). Twitter feeds were especially strong when compared against the Sage conference just held for Intacct which had almost zero social media discussions.
Unlike prior conferences, there was no update to the total number of customers on Acumatica. The last count Acumatica gave was in May 2021 at the last Summit ( 8,000 customers ).
The keynote was available online ( which is how I watched ). I thought it seemed a little rough in terms of messaging. The Ali Jani portion ( Chief Product Officer ) seemed to move and end quickly without many wow moments.
CEO Jon Roskill began his keynote promising to address three things:
1. Why
2. How
3. What
I struggled to tie some of the messaging back to the opening "three things".
Of interest was the announcement that Acumatica has 10,000 participants in their online community. I'm unsure what is required to join and whether you must be a customer/partner to join
My takeaways:
- In person conferences are back
- Acumatica has a growing mindshare of consultants ( as measured by attendance today )
- Verticalization continues to be the main marketing tactic for growing ERP vendors
