AccuPOS. What sort of experiences have the group experienced? The customer we think we'll recommend this to is distribution, using several separate stores that current have internet connectivity to the home office. One of the appeals of this solution is its claim to import So/Invoice line-items back into Sage.

About two years ago I was at their office and went through the system for a client (that delayed and never installed any POS). I was impressed at the time with the approach and the integration with MAS. I will be at AccuPOS again tomorrow morning with a client, and am actually looking at it for two clients, so I'll let you know my impression after that.

We've worked with both AccuPOS and FusionPOS. Each has its strengths, weaknesses, and quirks.

Have one customer using it though it's tough to tell if they are heavy duty users since they self implemented. Sometimes the customer is just looking for Sales Order plus one tiny step toward POS and other times they use it as full blown POS with all the options so unless you can get the reference to describe all the aspects of the POS which they use it can be tough to compare.

One client will have a single location with two stations and the other 7 locations with a single station at each. If I remember, these installations are easier to administer and support, but this could be true of any POS.

I have a large, 30 station AccuPOS install at an Amusement park. It does bring back line item detail to the SO invoice file. One of the things I like is that since it's a VI job it can be modified so I have been able to bring in register detaill such as operator back to the invoices. They have been good to work with for support and setup.

I reviewed AccuPOS at their office today, and was impressed with many aspects of the software. Please note that Wayne reviewed this on the 90Minds website in 2009, and that included the basics. There have been enhancements since then. Here are my non-technical comments: 1. Three things it does not do (which don't seem to be problematic): No real time inventory integration/update with ERP. No detail notes entry. No 8 1/2"" X 11"" receipts. 2. The ERP controls the data - import items and customers and refresh these from Sage 100. It does not keep it's own parallel data files as with some systems. 3. The integration back to Sage 100 is simple - importing to sales order invoices which also relieve inventory. 4. All the POS does is the front end processes of item entry, payments and receipts. 5. AccuPOS works with the client on implementation and setup. We do not have to be that involved. This is advantageous, because most of us don't do retail much. 6. AccuPOS has unlimited support: 5 AM - 11 PM M-F, 5 AM - 3 PM SS 7. They sell hardware that works with their system, but this is not necessary. They will provide replacement components next day for items on warranty. This support for their hardware is included in their support. 8. Great deal of flexibility in setting up and customizing system including buttons. My client needs Spanish, so they can change that on the buttons. 9. It is a Sage endorsed solution, so that may help in the sale. 10. Integrates with Sage Payment Solutions. Overall the system seems fast in terms of entry and easy to use. I have one client going live on two stations in June and this other may be starting in May or June with their 7 locations.

This is great, John. Thanks! The 2009 90Minds.com review is helpful too!

We have a true, high performance POS system that works well with Sage. Wayne doesn't like us to use this site to push products but if you want to talk, contact me. Big points for Sage dealers is that there is no time lag between Sage's updates and POS. Sage's updates do not affect outr POS. Secondly, it continues to allow orders to be processed even if the internet goes down.

I attended the webinar on that system and thought it was a good system. There are three considerations for me regarding AccuPOS: 1. We get tier credit. May not be a big deal to some, but I still value this. 2. It integrates or uses Sage Payment Solutions. No matter what anyone thinks, if a client is on 2013 and wants integrated credit card processing, SPS is their processor. 3. We can have minimal if any involvement in the implementation and support. POS is not what we do, so this fits our model well.
