@PaulZiliak Is it KnowledgeSync that has shipped free with MAS90 or Business Alerts?

So it is gaining enough traction that they don't need to give it away??? Though I do agree with the thought process outlined above.

I'm asking VS for info because Paul's post mentions that this is free, given with Sage and talks about people ordering the software through VS. I'm confused. I also thought the free version with MAS was always Business Alerts which isn't KS -- though it may have changed without my noticing it.

I believe you could order it for free and just pay the maintenance but it wasn't automatically included like Business alerts.

The ability to place orders for the Sage KnowledgeSync Professional Edition will end on January 31, 2012. Existing customers who have already purchased the Professional Edition (purchase date prior to January 23, 2012) will receive a free upgrade to the Sage KnowledgeSync Enterprise Edition (One Connection Alerts). In order for customers to qualify for this free upgrade they must be current on Maintenance and Support for the Professional Edition.

Hmm, that seems like what it says but really?? I find that hard to believe.....

KnowledgeSync professional (the limited edition) has been shipping for free - upon request by the partner or the end user - for some time now rather than BA. (I don't recall when it changed - it was not without fanfare). Nonetheless - similar to Sage CRM - because the technology is different and the app resides outside of MAS 90 - the adaptation rate falls off the charts in the MAS 90 world. KS is a great product, but its something else to learn so most avoid it. In this case Vineyardsoft is smart to charge for it. I'll bet the free version caused too many headaches / phone calls, etc.
