  • 1.  Access Database NOT Working With Use Trusted Resources

    I have a client on Sage 100 2020.5 Premium.  I have a SQL System DSN created for use with Excel and Access.  It has worked for 3 years and as a Trusted Resource with Access.  They had a power outage 2 weeks ago.  I had to create a new SQL System DSN.  I also deleted the original DSN and recreated it with the same name.  Both successfully connect from the ODBC debug.  The 64 bit ODBC is installed.  The new SQL System DSN works fine for an Excel extraction. The old one does not, even after being deleted and recreated.  In Access, the new SQL System DSN will NOT work as a Trusted Resource with MAS_Reports.  If I save the credentials, Access will work.  I have looked at what I know to check in the SQL database and permissions, all seems to be correct.  Does anyone have any insight as to why a Trusted Resource will not work with a power outage.  The error is below.

    Trusted connections depend on the Windows login used to run the process, and has nothing to do with MAS_Reports.  Make sure the Windows account you're using has db_datareader access to the databases you want to access, the DSN has a default database set, and that the instance is properly referenced.
    I'm not sure about MSAccess, but know you can copy / paste a working connection string into Excel, which is worth a try.
