Had this same message in SAGE 100 STD v2019 on a Windows 2012 server. Waited until everyone was logged off (at night) the server and rebooted the server. Installed Aatrix Tax Form Updates manually using the MAS90.exe file downloaded from Aatrix support. It worked!

IT installed from the MAS90.exe, and life was good. I'm having the same experience on another client. I can neither update nor uninstall Aatrix. Something has access to AATRIXDATA.ASD. Note: I have sent IT the KB Susan posted (Thank You!). We'll see what comes next.
