  • 1.  Aatrix Form/Program Update Requiring Local Admin - Any Workaround ?

    I have a customer who just emailed me demanding a meeting to discuss how absurd it is that updating a form in Aatrix requires local administrator rights.

    She is, I believe, talking about the prompt that comes up at least annually when Aatrix tries to auto update their program.

    So far as I can tell this is more than just UAC and is requesting a local admin account for the update to complete.

    If that’s the case, is there a workaround to this?

    Congrats to all who have IT departments who still make users local admin ( or share the SA password on SQL ). Increasingly I find that IT is doing neither. Sage seemed to fix the challenge for workstation sync which used to prompt for a local admin login.

    Any workarounds for this Aatrix prompt? ( other than making users local admins - even temporarily )?

    What bugs me more is that Aatrix will prompt even if there's an update to some form some unrelated obscure state like Connecticut (ha-ha Just kidding, Wayne). No workaround, but if they are running 1099's I tell them to select 'Continued Expired' after the initial form update. I don't think that form changed.

    Point them at the Sage Ideas site, and walk away slowly...
