    # A while back a Job Cost client asked if it was possible to make ""templates"" to copy for new jobs. Essentially, they do very similar work over and over wanted to be able to copy the setup information for a job along with the cost codes that they use. I believe that they were on version 4.3 when I showed them how to ""copy"" jobs. This worked for a while. At some point over the past few months they have upgraded all the way through 4.4 up to 5.0 (Sage 100 2013). In doing so the lost the ability to copy the cost codes when they copied a job. We worked out a solution where they created these ""templates"" with the estimate section of Job Cost even though they have never used JC to create estimates. My question is this: Does anyone know why the ability to copy a job complete with the underlying cost codes worked once but doesn't now?

Are you sure they didn't have JC-1130? I can't find the doc on that, but I have a client who has it and it sounds familiar in function.

Ah here we go from IIG's web site - This Extended Solution to the Job Cost module allows Cost Code and Cost Type information to be copied when creating a new job by copying an existing job within Job Masterfile Maintenance.

Thanks, Beth. I am checking with the client. They are an orphan that we inherited and the office manager is quite adept at doing her own upgrades. (she upgraded to 5.0 without contacting us) I suspect that your suggestion might be what happened.
