A new client is going to implement Sage 100 ERP followed by Sage CRM. They are intending to use Inventory Item Descriptions that are 200+ characters. (go figure). My question, if they use Sales Order Entry via the Sage CRM application can they utilize all the search capabilities they have inside of Sage 100 ERP? And second, if they use Sage CRM SO Quick Entry, are they limited to the first 30-characters of the description, or can they ""see"" more and search by more? Order Entry does not like the ""game plan"" to extend the item description to include so many characters, but Upper Management wants the ""FULL DESCRIPTION"" without any abbreviations so it matches their Web Site FULL Description. Any help I can get for Order Entry would be appreciated.

Why must CRM users use Quick Order Entry? You can configure CRM to use standard Order Entry instead. Much easier to deal with one UI.

Sage 100 Not SQL; so if they can see the full description, that would be great. They anticipate using Sage CRM from outside their office, outside their domain. In those cases, they will need to use Quick Order Entry, right?

If they 'need' to enter orders outside of their network setup I'd strongly suggest looking at the Greytrix integration if you haven't already. http://www.greytrix.com/Product/18/Sage-CRM/GUMU---Sage-100-ERP-Integration/

I echo the sentiment about entering orders remotely. if they don't have access to terminal server for entering orders through CRM you may want to consider the GUMU alternative. We have not sold it but it looks promising. The ""Quick"" order entry is pretty lame at this point. great concept but it is not quite ready for prime time IMHO.
