A long time friend of mine said they were looking to switch accounting systems and I told her I could get her in touch with a great MAS partner. She said ""we are too big for Sage 100, we need Sage 300"". (They are not that big of an organization) Who - except Sage - couldn't predict this unintended consequence with the numbers as names?

Who could predict it? That's easy - the next incoming regime of EVP and VP. The three year turnaround timer is running which means we can start to expect some type of reorg beginning in 2014.

Sounds like ""prescription without diagnosis"" to me :-) And I think Sage was counting on some of that when they raised the 300 prices to make more of a difference between them.

Just for the uneducated, what is 300 - Accpac? I've lost track. Most of my clients have no idea what Standard or Advanced is...they still think they have MAS90 or MAS200. Such a silly change.

I've heard it's 3 times better than Sage 100. Is that right?

Careful, @PeterWolf , Sage will interpret that to mean the VARs say the price should be 3x the Sage 100 price

Sage 500 was 5x better, so they are canning it in exchange for x3 withi must mean to the 3rd power.
