A file is in use by another task. Update will continue to retry until record "" is available. This occurs when trying to Change Accounts in GL. I found [this Sage KB ](https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=53496&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=547688&docType=kc&isLoadPublishedVer=&stateId=547690&docTypeID=DT_Article&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl)which mentions a third party mod (which isn't present). I've removed everyone from Master Console Deleted any and all .LCK files from LOCK I know that reboot the server is the next logical step. Asking if anyone has seen this before I have to start emailing IT to request reboot permission.

Wayne, this is a weird problem with Crystal Reports and the runtime engine. What is happening is that the temporary work file is not getting released. You need to install the most recent Crystal Reports runtime engine service pack on the workstation where you are running this utility.

Wayne, here is one that you can install. It's a bear to try to find these service packs on line. Version 2011.

This is 2017.2 Strangely, the first 50 or so account merge. Then this error is thrown. I have a total of about 226 accounts I'm trying to merge. I've paid attention to merging the same type to the same type.

Loaded the patch - still receiving the error message at what appears to be roughly 1/4 of the way through 226 changes. There must be something else at play.

Does it work in their test company?

See any files open on the server, that don't appear in Master Console?

No - I went into Computer Management to look and it appears clean. I have a message into IT seeking permission to remotely reboot as that will be my last step before turning this over to Sage as a probably product defect.

Aggressive real time AV? Temporarily disable AV.

I rebooted the server. Still getting this message about a file in use. Manually entering three or four change accounts worked so I may have a problem with my import or I may be running into a bug when attempting to change large numbers of accounts.

Any enhancements? I had a problem with an ACS enhancement giving me a similar message. Their enhancement apparently didn't clear 'locks' correctly. They gave me a new program file and it corrected it.

Nothing that I can see. I looked in the links folder and it was empty except for Default which I think is always there. It's a shame that this was one of those ""oh, I can do that for you in 2 minutes"" throwaway tasks from the end of their upgrade. Naturally the testing and research now are a couple hours over what I reasonably would have expected.

Any services or scheduled tasks that might start up after rebooting?
