    A customer wants to use Wells Fargo Payment Manager. The file specifications appear much more complex than a standard ACH file. Anyone have a customer using this service?

    Good luck with wells fargo. If you find anyone who knows anything there,please post the contact information. They are worse than sage regarding knowledgeable people.

    I created (with the help of a coworker) 2 crystal reports, depending on which services they want to use.  One was for ACH/Check and the other for Credit Cards.  It wasn't necessarily easy, but doable.

    @Nancy Hanson We are currently in the process of developing a Crystal Report format that exports to .csv.  We have it working but when it is exported to .csv, it is adding a line with 0's that we cannot determine why.  If we export to .xlsx and then convert to .csv, we do not have the issue but the process (workaround) will be a pain for the client.  Are you exporting your report to .csv or to .xlsx?

    @Shannon Sadowsky, I had to go back and look and actually run it to confirm.  I was able to export to CSV, with | delimiter (that was written into the formulas and | delimiter was per the flat file payment manager specifications) and did not get the extra data you are getting.  ​​
    So, keeping in mind, I didn't actually write this but in looking at it tonight, there is a formula for every field in every record type.  IE: Header record has 3 fields.  I have 3 formulas (HD File Control, HD File Header, etc) and then an add'l formula (called HD-Output String) to put them all together with | separators.  Then the PY records and so on.  Then each Output String was a group on the report Or the Report Header in the case of the HD record.  The Report does have a Details A & B, A had some basic AP Check History Header fields and was suppressed.  Details B was an Output String for the IN records.
    Did they provide you with the file validation tool document that you can test the file or you're not that far yet?  We were also given a PDF document with file specs but the Xcel document of the file specs was much more helpful.

    Sorry for being late to the party.  For what it's worth, we wrote this integration several years ago for one of our customers, and it all within Sage 100.  It is a rather complex enhancement, and we would be happy to offer it as an addition for any customer needing it.  We would most certainly need to update it to whatever Sage 100 version the customer is using, and we could add any new requirements at the same time.  Here is the description of what our APC Addition does:

    "The APC Payment Manager modification allows the user to use the normal functionality of Accounts Payable Check Printing to create an electronic file created according to Wells Fargo's Payment Manager file specifications that can be uploaded to the bank's website. The bank will take the file and use the data to print and mail checks to the vendors. With APC, the check will be marked as Printed so that the checks are not required to be printed as with normal MAS."

    And, I am attaching the user guide/specification for your perusal.  You can call, email or DM me if interested.

    We are in the process of creating the import/export jobs for a Wells Fargo payment integration.  We are exporting the data using VI then massaging the data to put it in the ridiculous file format requirements via excel and VB scripting.

    I know this has nothing to do with Wells Fargo Payment Manager but as an FYI just in case anyone needs this.  I have two clients that uses Wells Fargo's web portal so their customers can pay on-line with a credit card or ACH.   I've written a V/I job to export and upload customer open balances up the their portal every night.  On the flip side, they are downloaded a payment file where I created 1) a V/I job to import the payments into Cash receipts.  One import to that creates the deposit record and the detail lines at the same time and 2) a more complex non-VI utility to import the payment file for multiple MAS90 companies into CR.  It can handle multiple payment files at one time since on Mondays they could get 3 files from WF over the weekend.  Will be doing something similar to BillTrust if interested.

    Thanks @Jon Parkinson ! This is good information for the future.  I should have looked here before my consultants went down the path of using Crystal, as it has been a painful experience.  This client just wants this completed but this is something we can recommend with future requests.​​

    @Jon Parkinson  - are you making headway with this?  We just received the first sample invoice file from Wells Fargo that is supposed to be imported into AP invoices in our client's Sage system.  what a joke.  It could not be more overly complex compared to the needs for a normal AP invoice file for Sage AP.   ​This is not just Payment Manager - this is their AP automation.  Invoices get entered into Wells Fargo before importing into Sage.
