A customer wants a Lot Expiration Date field for finished goods created in Bill of Material Production Entry to flow to IM_ItemCosting. Sounds easy, except... When I add the UDF to the IM_ItemCosting table and try to link it, the only BM choice I have is the BM_LotSerialDistribution table. This UDF is a BM Production Header field, not line item specific. Does anyone know how to pass a BM Production Entry Finished Good UDF to an IM_ItemCosting UDF? Yes - this is 4.4, more encouragement for them to upgrade from 4.3, if it works. Clark

I don't think there's any way this COULD be done in 4.30.

Are you setting this up as a manual source or business object (ok, it sounds like BO). The reason I ask is that in trying to link a SO UDF to invoice UDF, you have to set the invoice up as a manual UDF, then open the business objects and select the SO link from that tab. Perhaps, the same holds true for you here. Set the UDF as a manual entry, then look on the BO tab to see if the source displays.

I've tried it as both a BO and a manual link. The entity BM_ProductionHeader is not available.

Hate to say it, but this could be a WAD then. I remember in the early days of v4.1, not all of the SO tables could be linked. Apparently, there weren't adequate ""resources"" to make ALL the tables accessible. Since you indicate that the BM udf is a header UDF, what happens if you make it a line detail UDF? Logically, I would almost expect it to be a detail UDF since you are passing it to the IM_ItemCosting table.

As you are working with inventory this will not be possible until v4.40 when inventory joins the framework.

Can the BM_LotSerialDistribution get data from the BM_Header table?

I haven't added a lot-level UDF for access at BOM production but, have added to PO receipts and IM transaction receipts. Seems like it should be possible for BOM production with 4.4. The lot location shows up when doing lot inquiry. tables to touch: Im_ItemCost IM_LotSerialTransactionHistory IM_TransactionTierDist
