A customer is installing Sage Inventory Adviser for their Sage 100 system. We thought that was in Beta-mode. Apparently marketed directly from Sage. Anyone else seeing this?

The VIP Launch is still a month away. It's in post-beta, and not yet officially released.

Any information on this product anywhere?

It is a web-service that analyses inventory levels. Sage bills monthly for the service. The customer is getting it free for a 30-day trial. We had to set a security-role and login with ODBC access to the inventory tables for them to use.

Quote from Netstock.co (not .com) The tool itself is not in testing and is OEM approved by Sage and it has been in the market for the past two years. It is the connection scripts, which is a separate process, that extract the data file that are being refined right now to automate the extraction of the data. They are very simple scripts but because of the different setups and configurations we find that exist at different customers they sometimes have issues, and we can only really react to and make the changes necessary when we come across scenarios that cause an issue, since knowing all the configurations possiblities is almost impossible. With Sage developers helping us refine them we hope to get them more and more robust. From our customer's (Sage 100 Advanced w/ JobOps) initial experience: Typically the extraction of the data files takes only a few minutes, but running the Sage 100 scripts on your data this morning was taking over an hour which is not normal.

The product is written by NetStock, who is a SaaS provider of IM replenishment management services. The Sage Advisor module will be available on a subscription basis, and it has been branded as a Sage product. You can find out more at http://www.netstock.co/inventory-health-check. Sage has a number of large distributors on it, and it has been very well received.

Are Sage resellers going to be involved?

It is one of the Cross selling initiatives that you can receive tier credit for if you can sell it. Doesn't look to have a lot services revenue.for the reseller.

In the January Atlanta Sage Roadshow, Inventory Adviser was listed as ""coming soon"". In the case with one of our customers, Sage has already contacted customers about this product and begun signing them up.

Cross sell team is aggressive! Almost had a SageCRM deal go to azamba. Thanks to @PeterWolf for redirecting it my way. I wish the team would work with the customer's resellers. It would be nice to know who they have been talking to and what they have uncovered. From what I understand they only contact the existing reseller if they resell what they are cross selling.

coming soon"" = We will call your customer 5 times and when they say now we'll give you a quota to try selling it.

@ToddMartin I think we're soon going all learn that the best defense is a good offense. Sage is going to be relentless in this cross sell because more than a few EVP jobs hang on its success. As a group we should get some regular webinars scheduled and be emailing our customers about them.

Double-Cross Selling to sell it while the resellers are waiting for ""coming soon"" to sell it.

But wait....!! They have their resellers' interests at heart as well!! That is verbatim what Tom told me at a conference we both attended in December 2012. I looked him right in the eye and said ""Shame on you Tom Miller, you are a very, very nice man, but you are telling me a story...."" He just gave me that ever-present Tom Miller grin, gave me a big hug and walked away. That said it all......
