A customer is asking if it is possible to add additional tables to the Sales Order View in BIE. This is for Sage 100 Premium 4.45. They would like to be able to add the CI_Item table to the view.

As opposed to the item view? So you see misc codes, etc?

Correct. They are looking at it primarily from the sales order side.

I don't know how to do it. I don't think it's possible. To be honest, I've never really found a truly useful way to use BIE

My experience has been the same but they wanted to try and make a go of it.

BIE - Another initiative that was through at the wall and left to slide down slowly. So much potential, so little investment. If you really want to be a hero to the client, show them how to use Excel pivot tables. So, so powerful and fairly easy to learn. @DougJenkins and his firm really went to town with them and have a some turnkey views that are very easy to install. Doug presented these solutions at the recent MOTM 2014 conference. A great way to give the client/customer a HSD!

Create the view they want in SQL and show them how to point Excel to it.

Which is what Doug does with Access pass thru and select queries

Sage 100 Premium is even nicer. Once you setup a view in SQL, you can point the Excel pivot table directly to the SQL View. The refresh time is much faster. Last week we completed a project that pushed JobOps hitory detail and Invoice history detail into SQL. Excel refreshed 800K records in about 15 seconds. I am recommending Excel 2013 for a more robust pivot table experience where large volumes of information are needed.
