A client recently upgraded to version 2013 service pack 3 (from version 4.5).everything in Sage100 is good; however, when they run Crystal Reports they have something odd that I have never seen and apparently neither has Sage. Here is what is going on: User previews a Custom Crystal report from the Sage 100 ERP custom reports menu. The report has STATIC parameters. User specifies parameters and report generates. Then, when the user attempts to export as PDF, they get re-prompted for the parameters, and the report does not export correctly. LOOKS like the report created the PDF, but when they try to open it, they get an error message indicating that the report is corrupted. This process worked fine in version 4.5. Anyone out there seen this?

Haven't seen it but wonder if you pre-set (hard code) the parameters if the error occurs?

Sounds related to a post on Sage City about this that Dawn Anastasi started. Check the Technical Discussions forum on this.

You probably didn't install Crystal from the Crystal folder from within the iso unpacked files. If you didn't Uninstall Crystal and reinstall it from the Crystal folder found in the unpacked ISO image and not from the Productivity Tools or CD. If Windows 7, make sure UAC is disabled for the task

I read through Dawns post just now - that leads me to believe I have 2 separate issues that I originally thought were related. 1). Prompting for the parameters which is a known defect and 2). the fact that the PDF is not readable after exporting. If I look at them as different issues then the issues with the PDF not exporting is probably a rights issue?

For the PDF not exporting correctly you may be seeing this due to problems with Acrobat reader service packs. Version 11 SP3 can't read PDFs created by Windows 8 machines. I have had to roll back users from SP3 to SP2 to solve this problem.

@DavidOverholt and others, any resolution on this? So far I've seen it happen on a workstation and the server. I noticed this issue was also posted on LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&srchtype=discussedNews&gid=1644357&item=274116294&type=member&trk=eml-anet_dig-b_pd-ttl-cn&fromEmail=&ut=0-mEj0a4umhRY1)

We fixed the issue for one of our clients by installing an older version of Adobe (Version 10) we had another client where they were e-mailing invoices to their customers and the customers could not open them either. Having all their customers downgrade Adobe was not an acceptable answer so we corrected it by changing the font on the Sales order Invoice.

Thanks. The issue I'm trying to resolve is the fact that we're re-prompted to run the report again - after previewing and then exporting (to .xls). This basically makes it twice as long to run the report.

There is this reference in the 2013 SU4 notes. Not sure if related... LM Library Master Released in 5.00.4.0 Parameter Values Screen appears a second time when saving Crystal Report with parameter to PDF file after installing LM5004-T has been fixed. 1 DE 101780

Looks as if it's from the pending PU4 that's gone to developers but not public yet

@WayneSchulz, where are the pending PU4 notes posted?

I think there's a private developer site - I think someone may have posted a copy on SC a few weeks back but I'm not positive.

@BrettZimmerman , This reminds me of an old joke of buying a house on a one way, dead end street. I can't find my way back there... I happened to be researching the delayed printing issue (I am still having for a client on SU3 and found it). Now I can not find it again. I was thinking it was in a 90minds post. I will attach it here as I found it in a public or 90 minds site.

@LarryBradford and others. The best way to post a reference to an existing SC post is to paste the URL. And the best way to determine the URL is to click on the date/time area of the original post (see attached). This will open a new browser tab which you can then copy/paste as I have done below. https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/17387660?ref=stream

David, Issues I have encountered with printing in the Sage 2013 release have been resolved by uninstalling Crystal XI and then reinstalling from the Crystal folder that is seen in the unpacked downloaded files. I also removed company-task specific records from the MAS_System\SY_ReportSetting.m4t present after reinstalling Crystal XI. User just has to reselect print settings the next time they run the report. I had originally installed Crystal from within the install application-Productivity Tools. But there were various issues in printing tasks at multiple customer sites happening daily. Clients have been for the most part now running stable with only one reported printing issue in the past 3 months. I don't know if this will resolve your clients printing issues but thought I would toss this out in case you would like to give it a try. (Note, if on update lower than PU3 make sure the Hot Fixes, especially the LM5004-t, are installed as well.
