90 Minds Goals for 2018. We never explicitly set goals for 2017. I think we should set some for this coming year. Here is my draft: 90 Minds goals for 2018 * increased member participation in the organization * growth strategy & plan * membership dues which sustain the growth plan * implementation of a platform that supports the growth strategy and necessary member participation * successful MOTM 2019 * sustained, if not improved, collaboration with Sage. Comments?

Most of these are longer term goals; more than a a year. Success of any 90 Minds Event should be a given Last point, we must protect against being overly influenced by Sage's or any other publisher. Improving collaboration is fine, but dancing to their tune is not. Our organization must maintain a friendly yet watchful approach to publishers and ISVs.

We all agree about the push-pull relationship with Sage. Developing a growth strategy and plan is not a one and done. So, yes it is ""long term."" I think it is completely reasonable to agree on an initial plan and change it as we develop. A key part of this is agreeing on if we expand from Sage 100, and if so where we start and how we do it; that's the ""strategy"" part. The ""plan"" would be the efforts we attempt during 2018. We can't keep the platform effort in ""research mode"" for years. So we tie it off somehow this year. That is what I mean. Member participation is something we should be measuring (how?) and keep some ever-changing programs active to improve it. I make this clarification only try to help all understand my meaning. I'm not a fan of grand, 5-year strategies for small operations like this. But a written set of goals for the year along with a starting set of things we will do to advance them is, I think, very useful to all.

Great start on the 30K view. Next step would be developing metrics to measure our achievement the goals decided up. I would also like to see some baseline statistics (member/firm demographics) and also some numbers on what the reseller universe is as a whole (total number of firms/people in the Sage/Other publisher universe) and a break down of the people into categories (management/leadership, sales, technical, etc.). Having this base information will greatly enhance our ability to adjust our sails and take maximum advantage of the prevailing trade winds.

I would think you would welcome the chance to complete the research, analyses, review and presentation of your idea, especially something so comprehensive. Let your vision shine @JeffSchwenk!

To the goal of ""sustained, if not improved, collaboration with Sage"" - we have launched the Sage Developer Roundtables, part of the Feed the Minds Series.
