Sorry I missed it. The timing was confusing to me as I wasn't sure if this was supposed to be a 7 pm ET event.
Some broad overall feedback on the membership committee and perhaps 90 Minds as a whole.
1. What is the membership committee's charge?
- Approve members ( this to me seems like it would be the purpose )
- Suggest events or activities that might increase participation ( probably )
- Approve and identify ISVs ( probably )
- Determine additional ERP? ( I don't think this is a membership committee decision)
- Determine whether to admit customers ( I think this is a board decision - and if they can't give a yes/no or want to kick the can another year - time for another board )
The membership committee can make all sorts of suggestions but I don't think the committee has ( or should have ) must authority to implement those ideas when they are outside of their charge.
In my view, 90 Minds board of directors made the decision through action or inaction that this is a break/fix type organization that has a once yearly technical event to socialize and catch up with those we only know through the online community. Members primarily show up to a shared community when they need an answer to something technical. They go away once they receive that answer. There is really no compelling reason for them to log in daily.
Expanding or migrating beyond the above is really more of a board directive. I'm unsure that it is or should be the charge of a membership committee to wade into those waters.
Just my .02 since I wasn't in the meeting and it's much quicker for me to jot this down than take an hour to discuss where I start to wander off-topic
