5.1.4 advanced - User is reporting fields in sales order header not saved. It happens occasionally. Today he entered a PO number then clicked the lines tab. He printed the order and the PO number was missing. He went back into the order and the PO number was missing. He said this has happened on other SO header fields occasionally. It has been reported by 2 other users in the same office. Is this a network connectivity, a software bug, user error? Has anyone seen this?

I have someone on 5.0 std who has reported this with a UDF on the Header.

Search on ""embedded IO"" (with the quotes). On the first result for Michael McDonald you can see how to run the utility (look at Robert Wood response). Run it for 4 modules S/O, A/R, C/I and I/M All users should be out of system when you run it.

@AlnoorCassim Does running the embedded IO utility have the potential for screwing anything up? What should I backup if anything? If something screws up, what should be restored?

It will touch the dictionary (DDE, DDF, etc) and physical files corresponding to the modules / companies you ran it for. I've never seen it cause harm but have seen it return a 0 (error) instead of 1. That dictionary was copied over from a different system that didn't have the client's mods installed. It was fixed by reinstalling the mods in that case. To be completely safe run it after the normal nightly backup is run.
