4.50.8 upgrade

    Hi guys

    I am trying to upgrade 3.71 to 4.50.8 and trying to print pre-migration reports, but get this error.

    Any help?

    So familiar but I can't place it yet.  I had something similar and my memory says i had to uninstall some module or delete a folder out of the source install...I know that's not a lot of help right this minute but I was hoping as i typed this it would come back to me....

    I remember something about the screen resolution being set too high. Try to lower the resolution.

    Have you tried restarting the server to free up any locked files from users?
    Any Windows services running for third party integrations that might be locking it up that you can stop?

    Make sure that PL is not directed to a sync onedrive or similar

    I second @David Speck II suggestion.  I like to start conversion with a fresh server reboot, then check for services that that might cause issues.  Finally, I like to run in STD mode if ADV is being used.  I usually steered clear of pesky issues like this.

    Not yet – had to jump on another urgent issue for a client so the upgrade (which is non-urgent) was put on hold – but – trying again on Sunday or Monday – will let everyone know for sure.

    I have found that sometimes you can get away with copying the entire MAS90 folder to another location and running it from there can resolve these types of things.

    Hi everyone

    thanks for all the help and suggestions - what a beast it has been.

    the final solution was to install 4.50.8 on a consultant's windows 10 machine, test the reports and confirm the "PL_Options is in use task" is not there - which it was not - so we zipped the 3.71 from the client's serve- uploaded to a sharepoint - downloaded to the windows 10 - and started the migration.

    That work around brings back memories.  Had to use the same trick once.  Crude but very effective.
