Hi All,  Have a client that has 4.50 (they are in the middle of an upgrade that got put on hold with the lockdown)..  One of their uses has been running in on Windows 10 for some time now with no issues using Paperless. (at least that is what I have been told).  I have tried every trick in the book (and some that aren't in the book) but when I test the PDF converter it just hangs and then leaves the stranded keys in the registry.
      Anyone have any suggestions?
    • Logged in to workstation as admin
    • Logged into Sage as admin
    • used advanced options to uninstall & reinstall
    • Set Registry & printer security settings
    • uninstalled the PDF converter and driver package
    • Changed default app for PDF to Edge
    • Cursed at it repeatedly
    Thanks in advance!

Hey Bob - I do like your last option the best. Here are some other thoughts.

Have you tried setting the Sage shortcut so that in the Compatibility tab / click Change Settings for All Users then choosing:
    a. Run this program in compatibility mode where you probably try Windows 7
    b. Run this program as administrator

Also maybe this was covered with the older version of Amyuni Converter, there were old tricks (no longer needed today) to be done in Start / Printers in the Sage PDF Converter properties:
    1) Ports tab - Choose Add port / Local Port / New Port button, then type in  C:\Users\Public\Sage
    2) Security tab - Click on Everyone and besides choose Allow for Manage this printer and Manage documents, as well as the Print box.

Also, if Terminal Server is not being used, you can try going to File / Run / PL_AdvancedOptions_UI and uncheck Use Lock File

    HI Alnoor,
Thanks much - I had forgotten about the port settings issue in the older versions.   I will give these a try.

BTW, when I was a kid and wanted to help my Dad work on something he would say that I could cuss for him..   LOL

@Alnoor Cassim ????  We don't have to do the old tricks of setting up a new port and changing the security tab settings?  Old habits die hard!  Now if MSFT updates would stop breaking the driver....

@Alnoor Cassim - the old tricks worked!  Thanks.  Been a very long time since I worked on a live 4.50 install.  Hopefully they will be upgraded soon..

Jeff, you are preaching to the choir.   I tell people I could fix paperless office in my sleep, underwater as I do it so often..  I hear rumors about a fix for the MS updates..  We shall see.
