4.50 MRP - Client believes that the Qty Sold for each period should be reducing the Quantity Projected for that same period, and claims that I told them this years ago...for example, 100 is projected for 04/01/2014. 30 are sold between 04/01 and 04/08. MRP Report should show a starting demand of 70 instead of 100. I've tried all kinds of tests and I can't make this happen - mine still shows starting 100, while on-hand is going down. Is anyone familiar with whether this is working-as-designed or not?

If integrate SO is checked in MRP options, then "" When these modules are integrated, MRP analyzes demand based on open sales orders as part of the information used for planning material acquisitions. Drop-ship sales order lines are ignored."" So it can be included as part of the projected amount, or possibly increase the projected amount, but would never reduce the projections once sold. I don't mess around with MRP too often, but that's my recollection.

I think you're right, Eric...I've never noticed sales history reducing previous projections before, and I can't imagine that I would have ever instructed someone as such. Just thought I'd make sure I wasn't missing something obscure.

Projected Demand is what you tell MRP, not what it tells you. It can factor in open sales orders to calculate total projected demand Proj Demand 100, Open SO's 120, so total calculated Projected demand is the greater = 120. (note only works on monthly, not weekly) I've never seen anything stating that sales reduces projected demand.
