4.5 to 2014 upgrade. Was ready to head home, feeling good, then someone rebooted and got an error 88 in STARTUP.M4P at line 0406 when attempting to get back into Sage. Renamed SY_Workstation and SY_Console, they appeared fine. But then 2 OTHER workstations are getting the error 88.

One of my 2014 customers got this after we installed eBusiness. Reinstalling the workstation took care of it. I haven't found the source of the problem.

Thanks - have reinstalled about 10 times, and no ebusiness. Maybe 11 times is the magic number...

It's trying to start a new object for SY_launcher in that statement. Error-88 is Invalid/Unknown Property name. SY_Launcher is in MAS90/SY folder. It includes PEP, so if you haven't gotten the patch or turned PEP off, could be a problem.

We had a couple like this where we had to un-install the workstation, stop the print spooler service and then install again as administrator to get them to work.

Turned PEP off, still happening. Which is a good thing because I'm about as over PEP as I can possibly be. Uninstalled it 3 places on Monday. So off to stop the print spooler now. This is ridiculous.

This is the problem/concern with simple/easy upgrades. You want to quote them inexpensively however there's a decent chance one of these oddball errors will pop up.

Hard to recommend upgrades these days.

OK, so reinstalling a second time fixed all of the OTHER workstations. The original workstation had an additional error after fixing the error 88 - when we tried to print we got a Crystal error - could not open report, blah blah. So. This particular workstation, along with being upgraded, was the recipient of the label printer, so I had loaded Crystal on her machine to fine tune the labels after the move from the old workstation. So I had to UNINSTALL Crystal, and then everything in the whole wide world was fine. Well, after I ran Autorun on her machine for the millionth time.
