  • 1.  4.05 form printing issue

    Hi All.  Have a client that is on 4.05.  They will never upgrade because they have a mod that they use that is no longer around.  Setup a couple of new sales order forms (they old style numbered ones).    One user that has a fairly new workstation (of course it is Windows 10) was having printing issues with a Dyno printer that seems to have messed up printing. I cleared out all the "iffy" printers & restarted the spooler.   Now if they go to Sales Order printing and select any other form code than 1, the screen freezes and then just closes.  Of course there is noting in the system report files since they are "old school".  Trying renaming sy_workstaton to see if that would help with no change at all.  Could not see/remember how to change her workstation id.     Anyone have any thoughts / suggestions?

    Fid0map.ini to change workstation id.

    Might also need to setup printers inside of Sage printer configuration.

    HI,

      I failed to mention that they are on standard.   I do not believe fid0map.ini exists in Standard..  First thing I searched for..

     

    I'll try setting up the printers in Sage – worth a shot.

    What might be happening is when you select a form code other than 1, the associated printer (which is accessible to other users) may not be accessible to this Windows 10 user OR it is accessible but it cannot read the printer properties. In 4.05, Sy_ReportSetting did not include the WorkstationName field as part of the key therefore whatever PrinterName$ you see in that record is what it's trying to connect to and must be available / accessible for all users who print using that form code.

    Perhaps in the end you need to create another Form Code just for this user. Also I assume the Windows 10 user default printer is not they Dymo.

    HI Alnoor,

       I setup the forms on the workstation that is having the issue.   I looked in SY_ReportSettings and did not find these forms at all, only reports.   And it appears that Windows 10 does not "speak" device configurator.

      I am wondering if a reboot may help with the issue – will find out today.
