2nd Qtr 941 Form

  • 1.  2nd Qtr 941 Form

    Posted 06-23-2020 17:29
Can someone confirm that the Aatrix forms are available?

Client just called, said she downloaded them and that the changes made back in April the emergency pay act are not reflecting properly on the 941.  Safe to say she is NOT happy!  I am having trouble sitting on my tush now.

This could be a very rocky quarter end filing season.

    Comments are appreciated.

    TIA

I downloaded them at a client today and the new 941 was available.

Aatrix has updated their forms – so something must be wrong at the client end if they didn't update.  I updated mine just fine!

No client did download their forms.  I just wanted to confirm that Aatrix had the new forms so it wasn't a case of mistaken downloading.  So on to the next hurdle as she says the numbers are not correct.  I guess it isn't surprising if they are incorrect as the quarter has been fraught with last minute changes with little guidance from any source.

My understanding is that once it's available that payroll 2.20.2 must be installed to correctly populate the Aatrix form with the Sage payroll data.

Anyone develop an SOP on verifying the 941 numbers to the detail?  With all the rush changes put through in April/May, need a way to verify the accuracy.  Client thinks her TAX amounts are OK but her employee/employer Fica/Medicare wage fields concern her.  At an employee level, she has 12 employees affected.  She says both her employee/Employer Fica/Medicare wage fields match and she doesn't think this is correct.

Yes, Payroll 2.20.2 must be installed to correctly populate the Form 941.  I just got confirmation from Sage that Payroll 2.20.2 should be available either tomorrow or Friday.

Anyone have the inside track on the PR v2.20.2 release?  Not seeing it on the portal.  But then again, not seeing is not new to me.  TIA

And be prepared – that Worksheet that has been added looks to be quite complicated!

Thanks @Nancy Hanson - Now am a bit concerned about the missing 941 worksheet blurb on the KB.  Is this saying it still isn't ready for prime time?

I think they've added a note that you have to update role maintenance in order to see the worksheet

I saw this post on Sage City today but haven't taken the time to check it out to see if it's really helpful or not.

    …and the conversation starts!

There is a new Sage City forum thread.

Forum: Sage 100 Announcements, News, and Alerts

COVID-19 related relief impacts Form 941 tax filing effective June 30, 2020.The final version of the updated 941 and the instructions are available on the IRS site. Sage is finishing our preparation to support Form 941 in anticipation of updated IRS filing requirements. In addition, a new worksheet is included with Form 941 titled, Credit for Qualified Sick and Family Leave Wages and the Employee Retention Credit. This blog is intended to help prepare customers for these changes.

    Form 941 and COVID-19 Resources

Sage recommends you review the these resources to prepare for Form 941 and related changes:

    How Sage can help

Answers to Form 941 questions are dependent on several factors including which relief options you took advantage of, how you tracked related pay, how you paid your employees, and how you withheld taxes.

Sage recommends you review the IRS form instructions, Aatrix site, and also review Sage KB articles and training before you complete the Form 941. Remember, that because Sage is not credentialed to give accounting or tax advice, your CPA or Tax Professional is your resource to ensure you complete Form 941 as required.

Because of this, it is not within our Sage scope of support to answer questions related to "What dollar amount goes into this line (of a government required form)?" Our support, services and success teams are trained to help where we can but not overstep this boundary. Depending on the complexity of your business practices, Sage advises customers to review IRS resources and to schedule time with your CPA or Tax Professional.
