  • 1.  2FA for customer systems when you work as a team?

    More and more customer systems are being locked down with 2FA (Two factor authentication), which is great from a security perspective, but it makes connecting to servers for support / consulting work more difficult.

    I have a general aversion to installing work software on my personal cell (for a variety of reasons), and in a team environment (where different team members can need to connect with a customer system), setting up 2FA as text messages to one of us is impractical... so is setting up unique logins for each team member at each customer site.

    Does anyone have suggestions to deal with customer 2FA as consulting teams?  Services to use for SMS-to-email...?  Today looking at one with MS Authenticator, I had hope there might be a Windows ap for that, but it's limited to Win 10 Mobile.

    I have a customer who has me set up with Duo. Once I try to RDP it will send me a push message to authenticate. Another customer has Microsoft Authenticator.

    It’s a pain but a necessary evil
