    26. Is this the last year for IRD updates for the W-2 Form Printing, 1099 Form Printing and Electronic Reporting module? No, tax filing year 2013 is the last year updates will be provided for applicable supported versions for W-2 Form Printing, 1099 Form Printing and Electronic Reporting module. Someone asked this in another group -- does anyone remember if all of W2 printing (etc) is going away or does this imply that the IRD is only going away but that updated W2 etc forms would be supported in current versions where an IRD is not required? I think Sage may have informally mentioned this but I'm not sure. Anyone recall? via Sage 2012 Year End FAQ : http://goo.gl/RoKGl

I'd swear it was 2012 before - kind of looks like the .9% Medicare tax made them extend it a year. The FAQ notes that the forms are hidden when you install 2013, but CAN be brought back like the GL Custom Reporting menu.

Nice catch - I overlooked that item: 23. W2 Form Printing, Quarterly 941 Printing or 1099 Form Printing are not listed on menu in Sage 100 ERP version 2013? New installations of Sage 100 ERP will not have the 3 menu tasks listed. To enable these tasks, from the toolbar menu click File > Run and type the utility name *unhidetaxforms When these menu options are unhidden, these installations will get the same warning message to say that 'starting in 2014no longer supported'. Note: After the 2013 Tax Filing Year, Sage will no longer be providing standard W-2, 1099 and 941 form changes in the standard Sage 100 product. You will be able to use eFiling and Reporting feature, which allows you to either print W-2, 1099 and 941 forms directly to your printer and/or eFile directly to applicable tax agency through Aatrix.

Two things to remember when customer uses payroll or needs 1099 printing: a. Use the new registration keys on upgrades or the customer won't be able to access Aatrix portion of payroll. b. Install the eFiling which I think is a separate install from Sage 100 ERP disk. This will save having to go back and install at year end.

Sometimes the easiest thing to do is to just copy the ERP disk to the server so that it is always available for use. Clients have this nasty habit of misplacing the media. And now since Sage isn't sending them out, the server is becoming the most logical place to store the programs.

Another plug for doing this copying via DropBox - it saves lots of waiting time and if you set it up for good customers you can keep their files constantly updated with the latest Sage disks all via remote management of Dropbox.

Is this in reference to the updates for forms only? Are clients going to continue to have the ability to download the tax tables, as stated as a benefit of ClientCare plans?

    Forms only.

Oh, hey, just realized this affects clients who don't have PR if they DO print 1099s... I've been so worried about the PR clients I didn't even think about that.

The two gotchas: 1. Need to be sure customers have their new Sage customer numbers (which means the latest Reg Keys). 2. Install the Sage Federal and State eFiling and Reporting which is still a separate install with Sage 100 ERP 2013
