    Posted 01-16-2025 13:49

On our opening Wednesday of MOTM we will be having consulting only roundtable discussions. We are looking for topics that matter the most to the Sage 100 Consultants. Here are some topics we came up with as a starting point, but we are looking for some additional suggestion from our members.

    • Sage 100 Future for us and our clients, best practices, and integration strategies.
    • Future of 90 Minds: Visioning the next 5-10 years of the organization.
    • Intacct: Who? Emerging features, best practices, and integration strategies.
    • Future of ERP: Trends in ERP technology and adapting to market demands.

Is there interest in practice management content like:

    • Services as a Subscription
    • Should we be migrating our Sage 100 customers to the Cloud (IIntacct or hosting?)

Other potential topics could be based upon the upcoming conference:

    • How to get the most of out this MOTM!
    • How are you using AI in your practice today, and how do you anticipate using it in 2025 and beyond.

    1. Sage Who? Diversifying beyond a single publisher - the good, bad and the ugly. What does future look like for Sage (and other publishers)?
    2. Sage 100 Goldmine: Unearthing Hidden Revenue Streams in Your Existing Client Base This session explores opportunities within your existing Sage 100 client base. It could cover add-on sales, custom reporting/development opportunities, support plans (virtually anything that could increase recurring revenue)
    3. The Human Factor: Staying Relevant in a Sage 100 World Powered by AI. AI can write scripts, batch files and provide responses to support inquiries. How will consultants fit into this new reality where sophisticated end-users increasingly turn to AI for tasks they may have paid a consultant for?
    4. 90 Minds 2.0: Reimagining Our Community for the Future. The world of Sage 100 and consulting is constantly evolving. How should 90 Minds adapt to meet the changing needs of its members? This forward-looking session will explore new ideas, technologies, and approaches to ensure that 90 Minds remains a vital resource for years to come. Share your thoughts on how we, together, can build a better, stronger community.

These are great questions to discuss. They nearly all revolve around the theme of "Prepare for Change."

I think 90 Minds is a terrific place to help each of us think about this. But there can be more. So I am curious to hear different tales answering the question, "What have you done in the past year or so that has most helped you to be (or prepare to be) a better consultant? I mean efforts outside of technical training."

As for myself, I became involved in a professional networking organization. It has forced me to think much more clearly and deeply about how to explain what I do and why a customer needs it. I am explaining our work to "normal" people who do NOT have experience in the B2B world, much less back-office problems. I now listen better, speak more clearly without so much jargon, and I'm better at engaging.

Do others want to share their non-tech training successes?
