2023 MASCRCW Utility will not run?

I have already updated my own internal copy of Sage 100 to 2023 and it seems to be working ok.

I'm now working on a test upgrade for a client.

It looks as if the Crystal Reports did not automatically upgrade so I fired up the MASCRCW utility and it failed saying it could not load the crpe32.dll.

I came back to my own system and tried to run it and basically got the same error?

It essentially fails when doing a search for files that need to be updated.

    So far

    1. I have reinstalled the workstation.
    2. Installed the Crystal 2020.
    3. Attempted to manually regsvr32 the dll (that fails too).
    4. Copied crpe32.dll to the windows\syswow64 folder.

I cannot even run standard reports on the client system in 2023.  I don't have any issues on my own system other than MASCRCW won't run.

    thoughts?

Which version of Sage.  Is it 32 or 64 bit?  What OS version is the server?  Are you running mascrcw.exe from a mapped drive, UNC path or a drive letter on the server?  Looks like the c: drive so no need to answer that question.  Any issues with the prerequisite install files?

    Logged in as administrator.

    Sage 100 2023.0 Advanced  32 bit.

Windows 2016 for the client.  2019 for my own copy.  Drive letter.  No problems with prerequisites that I am aware of.

Client test copy was a fresh download of the install files.

My internal copy (Std) does that, too.  I would SWEAR I have run it successfully for several end users - I've installed 2023 at least twice recently.  At least one of those was Std as well.  HMMMMMMM

There was a rerelease of the install program to correct STD installation issues.  Perhaps a new download is in order.

Important: This release has been updated to Sage 100.0.01 - which now includes the fix for Sage 100 Standard

Mine seems to work fine... probably an issue with Crystal Reports runtime.

I just tried the following and it seems to be working.

Went to a workstation and manually re-installed the crystal runtime then tried again from the workstation.  I wish I had tried it before re-installing. Looks to be working OK.

Went to the server and manually re-installed and tried again.  It failed.

Now to try it in the client test install.

UPDATE:  Works just fine from a workstation, just not at the server.

I did a 2023 install last night (32 bit)... this is what the Programs list shows as being added.

I went on site with the client doing workstation installs for 2023 yesterday and had one of the workstations crap out.  It wouldn't run any reports in 2023 or in the 2021 I was upgrading from.  At the server, I was getting the same exact errors running reports.  I suspect that running the MASCRCW utility from that workstation probably would have errored out as well.

I ended up uninstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019,  SAP Crystal reports runtimes and the workstation installs for both 2021 and 2023 and then reinstalled the 2021 and 2023 workstations and that seemed to fix everything.  I don't know for sure which of these things resolved the issue.

Will shoot to try the same thing at the server over the weekend.

UPDATE:  Just discovered that running at my server, reports would error out.  Did the above on my server with the addition of manually reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ before doing workstation reinstalls and everything is fixed up.   Now if I could just figure out what happened in the first place to cause this mess.
