2018.2 Job Cost: The JC Detail Transaction Report in 2016 would list the transactions in date order, but in 2018, they seem to be in some random order. Has anyone noticed this and know what to do about it? #2018follower

Sounds like a sort issue in the Crystal report.

Looks like there is a defect written up for this already, for now you can create a version with the date included in the sort selection. Defect: Break between each job with ""Page Break by Job"" unchecked. Also, Transactions are not listed in date order under the Cost Code. https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=90190&sliceId=1&isLoadPublishedVer=&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_Article&stateId=21829&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=944724&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl&openedFromSearchResults=true

Karen O'Lane - there is no Transaction date as an option in the Crystal Report Details. Marty Fraser in our company fixed this for one of our v2018 clients, and here's the process she did: Here are the steps to fix the problem with the Job Transaction Detail Report listing transactions in date sequence. If Sage does not fix this, it will need to be done with each individual client, by company because the report settings are by company. Once done you can create the report setting in the new company and copy the report across companies but actually will be faster to make these simple changes to each report. Open the Job Transaction Detail Report Click the Save down arrow and choose Save As Name the report setting example: TRANS DATE SORT and check the box for Default Report then click the Designer button and save the Report Setting. Crystal will launch. From Crystal, click the Report menu at the top and choose Record Sort Expert Notice on the right are the 4 Groups but no Transaction Date. Find the Transaction Date on the left side and click the right pointing arrow to add it to the right side. Click OK and save the report Test the report Again, this will need to be done in each Job Cost company

According to Linda Raby, the fix will be included in PU3. Should be released in June.

Hmphf. When I try to access this report, whether STANDARD or a new report setting, with the Designer button, I receive this error message. Sage said to copy in this file from either a backup or another system. I don't have a backup, as this is a new upgrade as of today. My local system doesn't have this record in this file either. What the heck?

Karen McWhirter at Sage sent me this file from her system. I was able to make the change that @SueBennett suggested. This worked. Thanks!
