2017 Standard. Inventory unit of measure. Standard, Sales, and Purchases unit of measure is CTN (cartons). In unit of measure conversion maintenance a carton CTN is defined as 4 rolls. The unit of measure for a roll is RL4. Items are purchased and inventoried by the CTN and generally sold by the CTN, but sometimes they break a CNT and sell a RL4. When I change the unit of measure in SO entry to RL4 a ""the unit of measure is not convertible to the standard unit of measure"" message is displayed. This seems like a common issue for distribution companies. What's the best way to set this up so they can inventory in cartons and be able to sell in rolls?

LOL - you're gonna die - your Sales U of M is CNT, not CTN...as is Std

Duh. it has been a long day. That is definitely an issue. I fixed that yet I still get the same conversion message in SO entry. Is it possible to purchase and inventory in cartons, yet sell in rolls?

Make sure that you also have a RL4 to CNT conversion, that you have a record for each UOM.

@MichelleTaylor1 Please look at the screen shot of the unit of measure conversion table in my original post. Does it look correct?

RL4 should be .25 of a CTN. Since you can't do percents in Sage, create a UOM record for RL4 with a conversion line of CTN and Factor 4 --> there are 4 RL4 in a CTN.
