2017 100c Unable to remove a UDf from Sales Order, Lines secondary grid. I tried resetting the panel, adding the UDF back and deleting it. Nothing seems to make it disappear. Any ideas other than reformatting the server and starting over?

I think I've had to go into the SY_Personalize.M4T file and delete records. Sometimes you get what appears to be multiple mods for the same thing, but in reality it may be All companies/User vs One Company/User, etc. And the system seems to get confused as to which copy you are modifying via Custom Office. I've deleted ALL mods for a particular screen and then started over.

Thank you @BethBowers That makes sense. There are 4,300 records in sy_personalize.m4t. Do you know how I can narrow it down? Is there a particular record flag? They have a do-it-yourself employee that occasionally makes a mess that I need to clean up. I see there is a SO\custom\ARCHIVE. I will bet he copied some of the programs from specific user folders to the current ###-### folder which is now out of sync with sy_personalize.m4t.

I never got that specific - I just deleted whole swaths of stuff when I couldn't find a corresponding setup in Custom Office.

OK. This is a mess. I am going to suggest exporting the udf data, deleting the udf and then re-creating a new udf. It will be easier than trying to fix this. Thanks for your help and for working OT on a Sunday!

You said you reset the panel but did that include ""reset all grids""? It seems like the wrong grid keeps loading here. If you think Sy_Personalize is in play here might be better to exit MAS, rename the whole file, then when you go back in it will create a brand new empty one. Easier than find the record you need. BTW, I DFDM delete crap out of there too but usually for screen resizing issues. Side note: Sy_Personalize is supposed to hold: * F records for screen position, size, and maximized state of the screen * K records for reports and forms where the Print or Preview checkbox has been set that allows you to keep the report / form open after print/preview

Thanks Alnoor. Resize All Grids is grayed out. That was the first thing I tried. It worked in a test company but when I went to the live company it was grayed out. I am going to suggest renaming sy_personalize.m4t and letting it re-create itself. Users will have to re-select their screen preferences but trying to fish through 4,300 records and delete the correct ones without screwing something up is more risky and time consuming.
