2016 standard. Si issue. In the status window, after entering the budget and the year, it hangs on ""Creating Excel Workbook"". After a minute or so we get an error "" the remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable"". They have a local copy of Excel 2016. I found an article on the KB and downloaded and installed an Excel compatibility program. Same issue.

You may want to be sure all the prerequisites have been installed and confirm that there is no EXCEL.exe running in processes.

Thanks Nancy. Turns out the outside IT dept installed Excel 365 2016 which is not supported. It changes the extensions of the templates and are not backward compatible. Fortunately I have a recent export of the financial reports. Good idea to export all of the reports and keep handy in case of a disaster.

There is a patch for compatibility with Excel 2016 posted in Evernote http://www.evernote.com/l/AQ4jf2GuRc5M2oRah_8R74iD7H8kgNXWUyk/

I'm using Excel 2016 with SI 2016 (and older versions too). Was this an upgrade and if so, did you export/import the reports or use the same repository? Local Installs of 365 2016 I believe are supported.

They are using 365 cloud which is not supported. It is quite a mess. Working on uninstalling / reinstalling everything.

Got it working. They had three different versions of Excel on the workstation. Had the IT people uninstall everything then re-install Excel 2013 and it worked.
