2016 Standard GL Transaction Journal Entries. Enter the header and first line or two without issue. Hit enter to go to line three, and before you can enter a reference and date, you get a ""Account Number is Required"" error message. Can't get to the account number field - only option is delete the line. Try to enter the line again, same message. Screen has not been customized. I'm stumped.

Update the two good ones and see if that clears the issue???

I tried reinitializing the header and lines files, rebuilding all GL key files and sort files but same problem. I tried logging in as a different user, same problem but in this attempt, the date appeared as 20160811 instead of 08/11/2016 and the words ""GL Account"" appeared in the field where the acct number should go.

Is it one specific GL account?

Did you check the settings behind the Format button?

Can you insert a row? What about tab definitions?

Thanks for these suggestions. Will try these first. If no go, I've resigned myself to calling Sage.

Is the panel customized at all?

The panel was ""accidentally"" customized but I spotted that right off and deleted it in Custom Office. It works fine on another PC. Jeez.
