I believe it is now resolved but not positive until we have more test results over the next couple of days. Whenever I RDPed from my office or from home to the server it would be painfully slow. I questioned the outside IT person about the slowness a couple of weeks ago. He said he checked and everything was working fine and it must be something with my computer or my internet connection.
Since RDP is to the server, a slow internet or local computer would not make the server apps run slow. I went on site this morning and remote desktopped from a workstation to the server, and it was still really slow navigating, running programs etc. So, based on some of the recommendations in this thread I opened the task manager and there it was.... the CPU was pegged at 100%. There were 6 live logmein sessions running (they were sessions that for some reason never disconnected).
After several emails to the IT people I had to be the person to discover a 100% CPU utilization. Maybe I should start a managed services business and charge $2000 a month for doing jack shirt.
Also, since it is Advanced, it should be server side processing so theoretically local workstation AV shouldn't affect performance.
