2016 Advanced. Went live on an upgrade from 4.5 a week ago. I was at the client's office this morning to look at performance issue that occurs when one user and occasionally another user experience. The ""lockup"" occurs when the user is in the Accounts Receivable Invoice History Inquiry screen. They enter an invoice number, hit enter, and display an invoice. When they try to exit out the screen by clicking Accept, the screen is frozen for several seconds, then eventually becomes available. The locking only occurs occasionally and can't be reproduced on all of the time. IT has excluded the C:\Sage\*.* from anti virus. They use ESET anti virus. Has anyone seen this or have any words of wisdom?

Any customizations? Maybe try rebuilding the panels, or have them try to dup with Esc Trapping?

No customization. It only happens once every day or two and it only happens to one user.

Any chance they have a locally installed anti virus on their PC that is ""checking"" or holding them up?

Also check the task scheduler to see if something is firing off at the time Sage 'hangs'

@MadelineStefanou The have ESET AV locally. IT was going to disable it for a couple of days to see if that solves it. @MoiraGoggin That's a great idea.

What is strange and may help identify a bit more, is that she can open up a completely new Ar Invoice History window with the same invoice number and look up invoices from a new window when the existing window freezes.

Maybe have her run in TS or Mas90 mode and see if it still happens. Maybe it's just a network thing?

@MichelleNichols that is a great idea. They have a TS. If it locks up when a user is RDPed it would ruled out the workstation configuration.

I believe it is now resolved but not positive until we have more test results over the next couple of days. Whenever I RDPed from my office or from home to the server it would be painfully slow. I questioned the outside IT person about the slowness a couple of weeks ago. He said he checked and everything was working fine and it must be something with my computer or my internet connection. Since RDP is to the server, a slow internet or local computer would not make the server apps run slow. I went on site this morning and remote desktopped from a workstation to the server, and it was still really slow navigating, running programs etc. So, based on some of the recommendations in this thread I opened the task manager and there it was.... the CPU was pegged at 100%. There were 6 live logmein sessions running (they were sessions that for some reason never disconnected). After several emails to the IT people I had to be the person to discover a 100% CPU utilization. Maybe I should start a managed services business and charge $2000 a month for doing jack shirt. Also, since it is Advanced, it should be server side processing so theoretically local workstation AV shouldn't affect performance.

I wonder what EXACTLY the IT person checked??? I don't know if they are lazy, stupid or ignorant as to how Sage works but 9 times out of ten, the reseller has to be the one to figure it out....
