2014 Standard Payroll issue. One of the employee's YTD Direct Deposit total is incorrect on his pay stub by thousands of dollars. The only thing different about this employee from most others is that he stopped working with the company in about February 2016 to move away. The payroll clerk ""deactivated"" his direct deposit shortly thereafter, as she often does with other departing employees. But he returned as an employee in May 2017, so the payroll clerk confirmed with him that his bank info had not changed, then reactivated his direct deposit. Could that have caused the discrepancy? His current YTD direct deposit total should now only be one or two payroll's worth, but it appears to be over $20,000.It appears as though Sage retained the YTD total as of when his DD was deactivated in 2016, rather than zeroing-out when the 2017 calendar year began? Any ideas how this happened?

Yes. I think I even mentioned this to the payroll programmers who are working on the payroll update. I need to test once period end is working (which it may be now).

The YTD deposit amount is stored in the setup for the employee. Maybe they didn't 0 that out when the employee got rehired.

For my own education I typically see if I can figure out where the number from Sage was derived. I would be looking at the perpetual history and PR_40 files to see if I could accumulate to the number in the system. Then communicate to Sage with some strange believe they will care enough to resolve it.

@MaryJoKrueger Thanks. That looks like a quick resolution. It is nice to have those now and then!

Definitely seems like a bug that should have been resolves several versions ago.

Just so you know - the issue of not zeroing it out if the employee was terminated or inactive during year end processing has been fixed in 2018.
