2014 premium. I copy a Crystal check form to a ne

2014 premium. I copy a Crystal check form to a new form code. When I print checks using the same Windows printer the fonts look different and there is large gaps between the checks. The original check prints fine and the copy does not. The page and printer settings in Crystal look the same.

Maybe the copy didn't work the way you wanted. Are the dates of the two files the same when viewed using Windows Explorer?

@LarryBradford Yes, Iv'e tried copying it several times. Very very strange issue. It doesn't make any sense.

See if you have a copy in the local machine C:\ProgramData\Sage Software\Cache folder.

Did you use Library Master to copy? I normal create the form. Click design. Close out and use windows explorer to move. I don't trust Library Master - not that this particular function has given me a reason.

I do basically what you do. I create a form, click design, then file save as. Then I open designer for the form code I want to copy from and file, save as over the new form code. I tried that with three different, new form codes with no success. I also tried copying the rpt file directly from the ""good"" folder to the new folder and overwriting the new rpt file. It is a mystery.

@BethBowers I am not on site now. I told them I needed to research further. Please elaborate. If there is a copy in the C:\ProgramData\Sage Software\Cache folder what would that indicate?

I've had this issue with Adv clients several times - a copy from some point in time gets copied out there and subsequent changes on the network do not update.

@BethBowers Thank you. I will give it a try on Monday.

Choosing a different paper type when setting up the new form code can throw things off rather easily. I'd try a little design tweak (like adding an ""X"" somewhere) in the new copy to make sure it is actually being used when getting the bad output.

One of the things I ""love"" about forms is figuring out which Crystal template is actually being used. Is it in the ..\mas_system\reports or the ..\mas_xxx\reports folder. So I use the @KevinMoyes technique frequently

Actually, I have been using this method for 10+ years. I should have filed a copyright application for the BLS method.....
